The Nease Panthers waltzed into Friday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 47-27 margin over Tocoi Creek. That's another feather in the cap for Nease, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nease to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cam Smith, who rushed for 100 yards and four touchdowns, and also picked up 57 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Kj Perry, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Tocoi Creek's loss came despite strong showings from Ryan Killmer and Connor Mcclendon. Killmer threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns, while Mcclendon picked up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Nease has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Tocoi Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Nease will look to defend their home field on Friday against Niceville at 6:00 p.m. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. Tocoi Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
