Ignacio are packing up and hiking across state lines for their match on Friday. They will challenge Newcomb on the road at 7:00 PM. Ignacio are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one.
Ignacio were able to grind out a solid win over Crownpoint last Thursday, winning 21-8.
Meanwhile, Newcomb were fully in charge, breezing past Shiprock 60-12. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-6.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-0. Ignacio's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Newcomb defensive front that amassed 7 sacks against Shiprock, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
