They took a serious blow against Bridges Prep, falling 59-4. Royal Live Oaks Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-4.
Bridges Prep found their leader in underclassman Makayla Lapp, who scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lapp has scored at least a third of Bridges Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zariyah Henry, who scored 12 points.
Royal Live Oaks Academy's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. As for Bridges Prep, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Royal Live Oaks Academy will head out on the road to face off against Whale Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bridges Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Allendale-Fairfax at 6:30 p.m. Allendale-Fairfax presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bridges Prep in South Carolina (Allendale-Fairfax is ranked 65th, while Bridges Prep is ranked 248th).
