We've got a battle between Hawks coming up. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Spruce Creek 2.3, Viera 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Spruce Creek barely beat Seabreeze the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Spruce Creek never let Seabreeze get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Hawks have won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Spruce Creek got a great performance from Garrett Grant as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. Grant has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Nathan Ricko was a standout: he scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Boyesen, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Viera waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Pirates. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by exactly three runs.
David Mastrolonardo tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Dominic Leoni was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Viera hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.
Viera's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Spruce Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Spruce Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Viera struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
