Columbia River and Mark Morris are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Rapids will square off against the Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Columbia River comes in on four and Mark Morris on 33.
On Monday, Columbia River made easy work of Washougal and carried off a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Rapids, who have now won seven contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Haylee Delano made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Ella Easter was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Sydney Wilder was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Columbia River hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Mark Morris posted their closest victory since April 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Prairie 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Monarchs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Not much got past Makenzie Henthorn, who gave up just two hits and racked up 19 Ks to keep Prairie off the board.
Mark Morris pushed their record up to 20-0 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Columbia River, their record now sits at 10-5.
Both Columbia River and Mark Morris just can't seem to miss. The Rapids have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Mark Morris struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Columbia River might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Mark Morris in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Rapids avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
