The Medford Tech Jaguars pushed their score all the way to 70 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 78-70 to Hammonton. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (62), Medford Tech still had to take the loss.
Medford Tech lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tre Powell, who scored 25 points along with two steals. Powell is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 25 or more in the last five games he's played. Tyler Branson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and five steals.
Medford Tech has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season. As for Hammonton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Medford Tech will take on the at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Doane Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Jaguars are ranked 76th). As for Hammonton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fighting Clan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
