The Ponchatoula Green Wave will head out on the road to face off against the Fontainebleau Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ponchatoula is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Ponchatoula was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 18-14 to Slidell.
Although Ponchatoula took the loss, they still got scores from Andrew Cangelosi and Jace Jackson.
Meanwhile, Fontainebleau's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 27-6 defeat at the hands of Mandeville. Fontainebleau was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Ponchatoula's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3, while Fontainebleau's bumped their own down to the opposite: 3-4.
Ponchatoula was able to grind out a solid victory over Fontainebleau in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 21-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ponchatoula since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
