The Palmer Moose will face off against the Kenai Central Kardinals at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Palmer is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Grace Christian get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Moose brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.
Timothy Bridgman made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Palmer is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise. Bridgman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season.

In other batting news, Mason Miller was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Zander Landon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
Palmer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Kenai Central faced Redington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Kardinals were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Huskies. Winning may never get old, but the Kardinals sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Kenai Central pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Palmer, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Palmer might still be hurting after the 12-5 defeat they got from Kenai Central in their previous matchup back in June of 2024. Will the Moose have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
