On Friday, the Patriot Prep Academy Eagles's game was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Genoa Christian Academy by a score of 54-43. The win made it back-to-back wins for Patriot Prep Academy.
Patriot Prep Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Benjamin Williams, who scored 12 points. Antonio Rogers was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Genoa Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Kirura, who scored 12 points, and Zane Groves who scored ten points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Groves has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Gilham, who scored eight points.
Patriot Prep Academy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Genoa Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patriot Prep Academy will take on KIPP Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Genoa Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Temple Christian at 7:30 p.m.
