Bertie struggled with assists on Saturday (Hertford County had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Bertie took a serious blow against Hertford County, falling 64-31. Bertie has not had much luck with Hertford County recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Rakiyah Peele, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 67.7% of Bertie's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Perquimans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Tarboro at home to the tune of 57-23. The win was just what Perquimans needed coming off of a 71-28 defeat in their prior contest.
Bertie's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Perquimans, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.
