Basketball Recap: Friendship Christian Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Friendship Christian won against Philadelphia Christian School last Friday with 64 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Friendship Christian Spartans had just enough and edged the North Georgia Christian Academy Knights out 64-62. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Knights are ranked 557th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Friendship Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amir Bryant led the charge by putting up 19 points. Bryant's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kevin Morozov, who posted 16 points.

When it comes to explaining why North Georgia Christian Academy lost, don't look at Luke Beaver. Despite the final result, he went 14 of 28 en route to 40 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. That was a full 64.5% of North Georgia Christian Academy's points, marking the 16th time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Landon Roland was another key player, posting eight points and seven boards.

Friendship Christian pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for North Georgia Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Friendship Christian will welcome Crossroads Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Friendship Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Crossroads Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for North Georgia Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Philadelphia Christian School at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Georgia Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season.
