Esparto has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Woodland Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Monday, Esparto suffered a rough 57-35 defeat at the hands of Maxwell. Esparto has struggled against Maxwell recently, as their game on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Antonio Seastrunk Jr., who scored 32 points along with three steals. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Sihapanya , who scored three points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Woodland was the victim of a rough 65-41 loss at the hands of Winters on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Woodland has scored all season.
Esparto's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Woodland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Esparto was dealt a bruising 81-22 loss at the hands of Woodland in their previous matchup back in November. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Esparto was down 55-18.
