North Star Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Millburn Millers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: North Star Academy has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Millburn will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Sunday, North Star Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-45 to Hyde.
Meanwhile, Millburn didn't have too much trouble with University on the road on Thursday as they won 70-51. Given Millburn's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while University is ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Zach Benmorits, who scored 35 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chase Plotkin, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
North Star Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Millburn, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
North Star Academy beat Millburn 60-50 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will North Star Academy repeat their success, or does Millburn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
