The Valley View Eagles lost against the Arlington Lions back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Valley View took a 69-53 bruising from Arlington. Valley View has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Charles Knight and Jalyn Talbert certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Knight scored 12 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals, while Talbert scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. The matchup was Talbert's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Maurice Lynch was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Valley View has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Arlington, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Valley View will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Perris at 5:30 p.m. on December 5th. Perris will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1036th, while Valley View is ranked 278th). Arlington won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Great Oak at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. One thing working in Great Oak's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
