The Kent Denver Sun Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 35 points or more this season. They breezed by Roaring Fork on the road to the tune of 91-27. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-17.
Among those leading the charge was Josh Gonnella, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Caleb Fay was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
When it comes to explaining why Roaring Fork lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Noel Richardson. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Richardson scored a full 44.4% of Roaring Fork's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Roaring Fork struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Kent Denver and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Roaring Fork, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-7 record last season and are now at 1-5.
Kent Denver won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Basalt at 8:30 p.m. on December 15th. Basalt will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Kent Denver is ranked 27th). Roaring Fork and Montrose will face off at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
