It was a good run, but the Oakland Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Upperman. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oakland in their matchups with Upperman: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyla Joy, who scored five points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Elaura Cox, who scored eight points.
Oakland dropped their record down to 9-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Upperman, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakland will face off against Blackman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Blackman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Upperman, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against White County at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. White County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 68.7 points per game.
