The Monache Marauders will head out to challenge the Mt. Whitney Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monache's defense has only allowed 14.3 points per game this season, so Mt. Whitney's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Monache is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 49 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Redwood on Friday. They came up short against the Rangers, falling 35-13. The Marauders haven't had much luck with the Rangers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Devin Rodriguez, who threw for 235 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 passes. 88 of Rodriguez's passing yards were hauled in by Jasiah Rodriguez, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only eight points in their last matchup, Mt. Whitney made sure to put some points up on the board against El Diamante on Friday. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Miners with a sharp 43-20 victory. The Pioneers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 30, 2024 (when they won 48-0).
Mt. Whitney's win came from a few key players Monache will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kayden Silvas, who rushed for 115 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Falcon Briggs, who rushed for 71 yards and one touchdown.
Mt. Whitney was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Mt. Whitney didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Matt Townsend and Jacob Gamez. Mt. Whitney got some further help from Keegan Oswalt: he forced one fumble and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Monache's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Mt. Whitney, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Monache strolled past Mt. Whitney in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 24-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marauders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
