Knox County and North Shelby are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Knox County Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the North Shelby Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Knox County is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Knox County came up short against Scotland County and fell 61-51.
Meanwhile, North Shelby's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 73-53 loss at the hands of Canton. While losing is never fun, North Shelby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 450th, while Canton is ranked 148th).
Knox County's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for North Shelby, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Knox County was dealt a bruising 70-39 loss at the hands of North Shelby when the teams last played back in January. Can Knox County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
