Eagle River is 0-10 against Dimond since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagle River Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dimond Lynx at 6:00 p.m. Eagle River is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Eagle River came up short against Chugiak and fell 43-36.
Despite the defeat, Eagle River had strong showings from Brooklyn Rollman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds, and Gabby Palozzini, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Rollman also grabbed two steals for the first time this season.
Even though they lost, Eagle River smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Dimond's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 36-35 to Bartlett.
Eagle River's defeat was their 11th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.2 points per game. As for Dimond, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.
Eagle River was dealt a bruising 50-16 loss at the hands of Dimond in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Eagle River avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
