The Boulder City Eagles will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights at 6:00 p.m. Boulder City will be strutting in after a victory while Mater Academy East Las Vegas will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Boulder City strolled past Pahrump Valley with points to spare, taking the game 38-24.
Gage Hopkinson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 225 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Chase Jappe, who picked up 45 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Mater Academy East Las Vegas was the victim of a rough 50-25 defeat at the hands of Sports Leadership & Management on Friday. Mater Academy East Las Vegas has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Daylin James, who threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Kwes Young was another key contributor, picking up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Boulder City's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Boulder City was able to grind out a solid win over Mater Academy East Las Vegas in their previous matchup back in September, winning 22-13. Will Boulder City repeat their success, or does Mater Academy East Las Vegas have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
