Fort Bend Elkins is 10-0 against the Vikings since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Hopefully Fort Bend Elkins is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Vikings in Texas (the Knights are ranked 57th, while the Vikings are ranked 293rd).
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Fort Bend Elkins beat the Hurricanes 55-51.
Fort Bend Elkins' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charley Reado led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Reado pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Mitchell, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Dulles' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. The matchup between them and George Ranch wasn't particularly close, with Fort Bend Dulles falling 60-45.
Fort Bend Elkins is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. As for Fort Bend Dulles, they dropped their record down to 14-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Fort Bend Elkins was able to grind out a solid win over the Vikings in their previous meeting back in January, winning 51-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Bend Elkins since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
