The Lovett Lions and the Peachtree Ridge Lions will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lovett has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 323 points over their last five matchups.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lovett beat North Hall 56-52. Given Lovett's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while North Hall is ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jack Rees and Cameron Cannon were among the main playmakers for Lovett as the former scored 12 points and the latter scored 19 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Cannon's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kingston Whitty, who scored nine points along with six assists.
Meanwhile, Peachtree Ridge beat Archbishop Molloy 61-53 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Peachtree Ridge.
Lovett pushed their record up to 6-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Peachtree Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
