Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Torres Toros walked away with it. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 43-14 win over Immanuel. The result was nothing new for Torres, who have now won eight matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Torres' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jose Soriano, who threw for 228 yards and five touchdowns while completing 89.5% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Amani Sua, who picked up 87 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The win (which was Torres' third in a row) raised their record to 8-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.33 points. As for Immanuel, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Torres will head out on the road to face off against Coalinga at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coalinga is on a three-game streak of home wins, Torres a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Immanuel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
