The Lincolnwood Lancers lost against the Southwestern Piasa Birds back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Lincolnwood fell 39-26 to Southwestern. Lincolnwood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Southwestern found their leader in underclassman Vivian Zurheide, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Zurheide has scored at least 25% of Southwestern's points. Samantha Stormer was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Lincolnwood has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Southwestern, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincolnwood will challenge Carlinville at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Carlinville's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Lincolnwood has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Southwestern, they will square off against Carrollton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carrollton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
