It was a good run, but the Ingleside Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They took a serious blow against Sinton, falling 42-14. Ingleside has not had much luck with Sinton recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Aidan Jakobsohn threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Jaydon Smith was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Nathan Ambrose rushed for 79 yards.
Sinton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Derek Garcia out in front who rushed for 234 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacoby James, who gained 148 total yards and two touchdowns.
Ingleside's defeat dropped their record down to 10-1. As for Sinton, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2-1.
Ingleside will face off against Grulla at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grulla will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1006th, while Ingleside is ranked 489th). As for Sinton, they will face off against Bishop at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
