East Moline United scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Orion Chargers by a score of 8-7. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Payton Welge was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carter Ramsey, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

East Moline United dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Orion, their record is now 2-3.

Coming up, East Moline United will host East Dubuque at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Orion, they are taking a road trip to take on Bushnell-Prairie City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Orion is facing Bushnell-Prairie City at the right time seeing as Bushnell-Prairie City is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
