Fruitdale has not had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the loss, Fruitdale still got an impressive performance from Deion Taylor, who scored 28 points. That was a full 43.1% of Fruitdale's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Jones, who scored eight points.
Fruitdale's defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Washington County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fruitdale will square off against the Demons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McIntosh presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Pirates in Alabama (the Demons are ranked 137th, while the Pirates are ranked 470th). As for Washington County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on January 30th. Blacksher has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11.
