The Montini Catholic Broncos will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Laurence Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Thursday, Montini Catholic was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-37 to Romeoville. While losing is never fun, Montini Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Romeoville is ranked 44th).
Meanwhile, St. Laurence was just a bucket shy of victory on Sunday and fell 53-52 to Bloom.
This is the second loss in a row for Montini Catholic and nudges their season record down to 5-11. As for St. Laurence, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
Montini Catholic was dealt a bruising 70-43 defeat at the hands of St. Laurence in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Montini Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
