After two games on the road, Slidell is heading back home. They will take on the Northshore Panthers at 7:10 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Slidell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Slidell came up short against St. Augustine and fell 58-48. While losing is never fun, Slidell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while St. Augustine is ranked 22nd).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Mike Parlow, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. He scored a full 35.4% of Slidell's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Hookfin, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northshore waltzed into Thursday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 53-49 W over Bonnabel.
Slidell now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Northshore, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Slidell ended up a good deal behind Northshore when the teams last played back in February, losing 64-47. Can Slidell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
