The Bradford Tornadoes put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They beat Palatka by the very same score they won with last week: 42-0. Considering Bradford has won six contests by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Bradford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dae'jon ?6ixx? shanks, who threw for 50 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Brian Cliffin iii was another key contributor, rushing for 114 yards on only eight carries.
Bradford's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 6-3 Eastside and 6-3 Baker County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.4% over those games). As for Palatka, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Bradford will play host again and welcome Suwannee, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Suwannee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Bradford is ranked 43rd). As for Palatka, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Augustine knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Palatka likes a good challenge.
