Bloomington hasn't had much luck against Colton recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bruins will head out to square off against the Yellowjackets at 3:45 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bloomington took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against San Gorgonio, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bruins sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Spartans on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bruins as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Stacy Lopez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Bloomington let Alyssa Ceballos and Izabella Reyes run wild. Ceballos went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Reyes went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Reyes has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kaja Wright, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Colton came out on top against Arrowhead Christian on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Yellowjackets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 7-0 shutout. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past ANDREA VARELA, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Arrowhead Christian off the board. VARELA has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on STEPHANIE DELACRUZ, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of SADIE RODRIGUEZ, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Colton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arrowhead Christian struck out ten times.
Colton is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bloomington, their record now sits at 3-12.
Bloomington might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Colton in their previous meeting on Wednesday. Can the Bruins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
