The American Leadership Academy Eagles entered their tilt with the Draper APA Eagles with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. American Leadership Academy managed a 73-68 victory over the Eagles on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Draper APA lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Urban Baldwin, who scored 25 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Greenwell, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
American Leadership Academy pushed their record up to 11-10 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Draper APA, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
American Leadership Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Maeser Prep Academy is ranked 127th, while the Eagles are ranked 114th). Draper APA's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Jayhawks at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. St. Joseph has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
