After three games on the road, Augusta Christian is heading back home. They will take on the Hammond Skyhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Augusta Christian beat the Fightin' Irish 48-40. Given Augusta Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Fightin' Irish are ranked 304th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Augusta Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylee Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Jackson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Taylor Booker, who scored four points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hammond stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Ben Lippen on the road to the tune of 64-25. Winning may never get old, but Hammond sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Augusta Christian's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Hammond, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Augusta Christian might still be hurting after the 45-25 loss they got from the Skyhawks in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Will Augusta Christian have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
