The Whitharral Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 22 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 69-28 victory over Morton on the road. The victory was nothing new for Whitharral as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Paige Smith was her usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Whitharral's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Parkinson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 steals.
Whitharral pushed their record up to 15-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Morton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitharral will be home for the holidays to greet Dalhart at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Morton will finish 2023 at home by hosting Seagraves at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Seagraves comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
