After flying high against the KIPP Esperanza Eagles last Saturday, the Los Altos Eagles came back down to earth. Los Altos fell to American 43-38. While losing is never fun, Los Altos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 651st, while American is ranked 138th).
It was another big night for Kiratraj Sanghera, who scored 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 blocks for American. The match was Sanghera's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Dylan JaWei Lee was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 10 rebounds.
Los Altos has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for American, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Los Altos will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Homestead at 6:30 p.m. on December 14th. As for American, they will challenge James Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
