If the Hoke County Bucks were riding high off their 62-22 takedown of the Southern Lee Cavaliers last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hoke County fell 51-44 to Union Pines on Wednesday. Hoke County has not had much luck with Union Pines recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Hoke County had strong showings from Karmen Campbell, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three blocks, and Dashinedria Riggins, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Campbell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julianna Macy, who scored four points along with two blocks.
Hoke County has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Union Pines, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Hoke County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pinecrest at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Union Pines, they will be playing at home against Southern Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Lee comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
