Norton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Haley Sanderson, who had 15 digs and one assist, and Lillian Flohr, who hit 62.5% for six kills and nine digs and two aces. That's the most aces Flohr has posted over her last six matchups.
Meanwhile, Orrville didn't have quite enough to beat Triway on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Red Riders haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Orrville sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 14-25, 25-18, 19-25, 15-10.
Norton will have to contain Joscilyn Crenshaw as she made an impact in Orrville's last game. She had 12 digs and two aces. Crenshaw is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Orrville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Norton, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's contest: Norton has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Orrville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Norton's way against Orrville in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as Norton made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
