Cherokee Trail took care of business in their home opener. They snuck past Rock Canyon with a 12-6 win.
Meanwhile, Mountain Vista couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. Mountain Vista weren't too far behind, but the team still lost 14-20 to Ralston Valley last Saturday. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but Mountain Vista was outplayed in the second half.
Cherokee Trail's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Mountain Vista's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Cherokee Trail can add another positive mark to their record or if Mountain Vista can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Cherokee Trail's step.
