Lakeside is 2-8 against Harvey since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lakeside Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Harvey Red Raiders at 6:15 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 27 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Lakeside and four for Harvey.
On Tuesday, Lakeside took a serious blow against Edgewood, falling 75-37. While losing is never fun, Lakeside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 696th, while Edgewood is ranked 63rd).
Meanwhile, Harvey was the victim of a tough 54-29 loss at the hands of Geneva on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Harvey has lost by exactly 25 points.
Lakeside bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Harvey, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Lakeside was dealt a bruising 54-18 loss at the hands of Harvey when the teams last played back in February. Can Lakeside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
