The biggest upset of the week belonged to Mountain View, who took down 466th ranked Homestead, 50-41.
The Spartans moved up to 535 from 619 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in De Anza. Mountain View climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Mustangs 50-41.
Saratoga's dynamic duo of Jonathan Walters and Kyle Dozier proved tough for Palo Alto to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Walters threw for 374 yards and four touchdowns and Dozier had 158 yards receiving. Grant Faylor helped Saratoga's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 138 yards.
Adam Garza was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 135 yards on 17 carries as Santa Clara lost to the Vikings. Teammate Dion Perry added to the ground attack by rushing for 92 yards.
Saratoga's Walters and Dozier have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Walters has thrown for 2586 yards this season, while Dozier, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 62 catches for 1028 yards. Wilcox's Delshawn Mitchell leads the league in rushing yards with 999.
Entering into this week's contest against Toure Carter's team, Keller Chryst is short just 138 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. So far this year, Chryst has thrown for 1862 yards with 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Earl Hansen's team's Matt Tolbert is a mere 85 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 123 carries Tolbert has accumulated 915 yard this year.
Two of the top units in De Anza will face off this week when Tim Lugo's team takes on Milpitas. The Falcons' offense has scored 323 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Trojans have allowed only 125 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Milpitas takes on Saratoga. As it stands, Kelly King's team is in second, while the Falcons are in fourth.
The Chargers were the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, Wilcox triumphed over the Bruins 36-26.
