Canyon (Canyon Country, Calif.) grabbed the lead when
Cade Apsay ran for a touchdown with 4:00 remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
Saugus (Calif.) 23-20 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured six lead swaps.
The Cowboys led 16-13 at halftime, but the Centurions regained the lead on a
Reid Rupe touchdown run with 10:00 remaining in the fourth.
The loss was the third in a row for Saugus.
Canyon (6-1) goes up against Valencia in a Foothill game matchup next week, while Saugus (3-4) locks horns with Hart also in a Foothill game.
