Baseball Recap: Festus Gets the Win

While Festus's win against DeSoto wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Dragons a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Cale Schaumburg's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Festus' win bumped their record up to 15-9-1. As for DeSoto, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

Festus will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
