Softball Recap: Mead Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Mead had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. Everything went their way against the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups as they made off with a 24-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mead's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.4 runs over those games. As for Gonzaga Prep, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mead is set to face off against their familiar foe Shadle Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gonzaga Prep will take on rival Cheney at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
