The Buchanan Bears put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past American with points to spare, taking the game 64-46. Given Buchanan's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while American is ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
American's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiratraj Sanghera, who scored 16 points. Sanghera scored a full 34.8% of American's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan JaWei Lee, who scored 12 points.
Buchanan's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for American, their loss dropped their record down to 5-1.
Buchanan will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Gunn at 7:00 p.m. American will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Prospect at 5:30 p.m. on December 9th.
