The Mazama Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by Tillamook on the road and fell 57-26. While losing is never fun, Mazama can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Tillamook is ranked 46th).
Tillamook got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aubrey Hilton out in front who scored 19 points along with four steals. The game was Hilton's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Crawford, who scored six points along with ten steals.
Mazama's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Tillamook, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Mazama will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Phoenix at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Tillamook won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Valley Catholic on December 28th. Valley Catholic is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
