The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders will take on the West Broward Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
St. Thomas Aquinas came out on top against Fort Lauderdale on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Flying L's. The game was the first time the Raiders have beaten the Flying L's on their field since March 11, 2019.

Ayla Sato tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, St. Thomas Aquinas got a massive performance out of Victoria Brunette, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Brunette a new career-high. Jessica Sacca also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, West Broward had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Cheyanne Chaffin spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Milian Valdez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jayla Castillo, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
West Broward hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.
West Broward pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.
St. Thomas Aquinas might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from West Broward in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
