The Kenesaw Blue Devils came into Tuesday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Red Cloud by a score of 43-36 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Kenesaw also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Blake Steer, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Denkert, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Red Cloud saw an underclassman step up: Wyatt Frey almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Frey has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Bolin, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Kenesaw's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11. As for Red Cloud, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenesaw will take on Lawrence-Nelson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Kenesaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for Red Cloud, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Deshler at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Deshler focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Saturday.
