The Stanton Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the South Walton Seahawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Stanton sitting on four straight victories and South Walton on eight.
With a playoff game on the line, Stanton rose to the challenge on Friday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Crusaders 2-1.
Stanton was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Ava Touchton and
Kimberly Norton, who scored both of Stanton's goals. The pair have combined for a total of ten so far this season.
Meanwhile, South Walton can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. Everything went their way against Fernandina Beach as South Walton made off with a 7-0 win. Seven seems to be a good number for South Walton as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.
Stanton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5-3 record this season. As for South Walton, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
Stanton came out on top in a nail-biter against South Walton in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. Does Stanton have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Walton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
