The Cedaredge Bruins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 63-44 bruising from Vail Christian. Cedaredge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Vail Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Cedaredge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Tullis, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Scott, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Cedaredge were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vail Christian only pulled down three offensive rebounds.
Will Neumann had an outrageously good game for Vail Christian as he scored 28 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The match was Neumann's third in a row with at least ten points. Oliver Neumann was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Cedaredge has fallen quite a ways from their 18-4 record last season and are now at 0-3. As for Vail Christian, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Cedaredge will be playing in front of their home fans against Coal Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coal Ridge is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Vail Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buena Vista presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Vail Christian in Colorado (Buena Vista is ranked 64th, while Vail Christian is ranked 224th).
