Football Recap: Southeast Guilford Starts Season with Victory Against Western Guilford

Southeast Guilford had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Western Guilford Hornets as they made off with a 52-30 victory. The match was close at halftime, but the Falcons turned on the heat in the second half with 38 points.

Travis Motley was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 148 yards and two scores on only 13 carries.

Western Guilford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Moore, who rushed for 171 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Timothy (Tim) Baker, who rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Southeast Guilford will take on Ragsdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Western Guilford, they will challenge High Point Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
